Highly Buildable Land in Central Virginia

Not all acreage is usable acreage. A 50-acre mountain parcel might have only 10 buildable acres once you account for steep slopes, ravines, and ridgelines. LandMatch calculates buildable percentage from high-resolution elevation data on every parcel in the region, identifying properties where at least 80% of the land has slopes gentle enough for roads, structures, gardens, and pasture. This is especially important in the mountain counties — Nelson, Greene, and Madison — where terrain can be deceptive.
